1:Social media companies make money by selling our time, attention, and information: working to addict us to their services and maximize engagement on every post.
2:This business model has wrought mental illness, loneliness, and political polarization on a global scale, with no signs of slowing down.
3:We aim to take back control of our own lives, and influence the system through organized shutoffs, public pressure, and signal-boosting safer alternatives.

As much as it has so far been used against us, technology can be used for good. What if all the energy that currently maximizes profit in an addictive business model went into truly making our relationships and lives the best they can be?
